EARLY LIFE THROUGH 1933-1950

Hello, my name is Ruth Bader Ginsburg but people call me RBG for short.  Most people know me as a Supreme Court Justice but my life wasn't as glorious as you may think . So here is what my life was really like.

I was born on March 15,1933.The members of my family were my older sister Marilyn Bader, my mom Celia Bader, and lastly my dad Nathan Bader. I lived in an apartment in New York City, New York. My parents were hard working Immigrants. My  dad Nathen immigrated here to New York from  Russia and my mom Celia was born in New York but her parents were born in Poland but they were Jewish. As a kid I grew up learning about being Jewish and their culture. Sadly, when I was 14 months old my sister Marilyn died of meningitis.  She was 6 years old.  On my birthday instead of having a fancy shmancy party like the other girls in my grade I would go to the grocery store with my mom and get ice cream, cake, and cookies. Then we would  go to the orphanage not too far from my apartment and celebrate there. I loved to see the smiles on their faces when we would go and surprise them. When I was in middle school I realized I would never weigh more than 100 pounds or be taller than 4 feet.
